Richard Phillips    Creator - Designer - Producer - Director and cleans up after the cast and crew
Richard has designed and installed lighting and AV systems for over 20 years. He is known for his
innovative designs and ability to get the job done on time and within budget.  Additionally Richard
is the developer of Synth-A-Beams® which is an interactive system that triggers sound and lighting
effects as beams of light are interrupted. These systems have been used by performers and
installed in entertainment venues and science centers all over the world. Two Synth-A-Beam®
Interactive controllers are being used in this exhibit. Some of Richards work has been exhibited
locally at First Night Austin 2009 & 2010, SXSW Plutopia Party @ The MACC 2009 & 2010, The
Long Centers 2011 Bash and Mash fund raisers and a Synth-A-Beam® performance at the SXSW
2010 Interactive Web Awards pre show. Some of his entertainment system designs and colorful
building lighting can be seen at Wild Country, La Boom, Wet Willies and Starlight Station in the
Killeen Area. This is the 4th time Richard has staged a segment of the Light Wizards show. He is
now seeking funding and plans to expand the show in the near future.
Richards Interactive Light Art is also on display using holographic Mylar, LED’s, and
Electroluminescent Wire.

Light Wizard Mike Herzfeld Percussionist on the Synth-A-Beams® and The Beam Master
Mike was born November 29, 1988 in Wichita Falls, TX. A pianist from the age of 2 and
percussionist since 8, Mike has been an avid life-long musician. Mike was a percussionist in
marching and concert band since junior high and was a charter member of the first Zundy Jr. High
jazz. Mike continued with marching, concert and jazz band throughout high school, serving as drum
line captain for the Wichita Falls High School Big Red Marching Band for 2 years. From 6th grade
through completion of high school, Mike competed in UIL solo/ensemble contest, earning a
superior rating at the state level all four years of high school. Now a senior at the University of
Texas, Mike stays active in the music scene by performing with various groups around the city
across multiple musical genres and is currently pursuing an interest in Light Wizardry and being

Light Wizard Shelby Anderson Percussionist on the Synth-A-Beams®
Shelby’s love affair with music began years ago. He comes from a musical family. Growing up, he
listened to one of his grandfather’s play the saxophone and clarinet, and his other grandfather play
the guitar and fiddle. These musical instruments would prove to have a catalytic effect on this
young musician. When Shelby found himself in high school, his infatuation with music sent him
into the school band, where he learned the drums. He privately learned to play the guitar, piano
and to sing, and soon a musician was created. He then began playing with musician across
Mississippi, as he honed his talent and unique sound. At age 16, Shelby began gigging with
Mississippi band Lorenzo and the Foxy Lady, a southern rhythm and blues band. Listen to his
music. You’ll tell right away how Shelby’s time gigging in Mississippi has influenced his music. He
has a gritty and soulful sound that is characteristic of the deep South. Shelby has decided to bring
his music to the Live Music Capitol of the World.

Light Wizard Lindsey Savage   Hoops - POI - Flags and creative dancer with the Synth-A-
"Performing since early 2007, Neon Emu has picked up many talents along her evolution. DJing,
hula hooping, hoop creation and sale, fire performance, headdress creation, fan performance,
costume design and prop assisted stage performance are her current obsessions. No matter
what the circumstance that you may come in to contact with this rare species of performer, this
Renaissance woman isn't an act to miss.

Lisa Havins Production / Stage Manager
Lisa Wakefield-Havins of Georgetown, TX has over 20 years in the entertainment industry.  A
graduate of the Joanne Baron/ DW Brown Acting Studio in Los Angeles, CA, she also became a
teacher there for over six years.  Throughout her career as an actress Lisa has also been behind
the camera as an Assistant Director, Production Manager and Writer on several films and sit-
coms.  She is thrilled to be a part of Austin entertainment.
